What Shopify can't do on its own
Shopify can do 10% off from 5 items. For 15% from 10 items you need a second discount, and the two get in each other's way. Shopify Scripts, the old workaround, were shut down on June 30, 2026.

Common questions about Hand-E AI Discounts
Does the discount show up in my store on its own?
It applies at checkout as soon as you switch it on. A discount from the AI waits until you click "Switch on now", right after creating it or later under My discounts. Until then, Shopify lists it under Discounts as "Expired". You add widgets, the gift and the bar once, in a few clicks in Shopify's theme editor.
What happens when my store grows past its plan?
The app warns you at 80% of your limit. If you go over it, you have 14 days to switch. After that, the app's discounts pause until you do. Discount codes from the app are regular Shopify codes and keep working.
Is there a limit on how many discounts can run at once?
Shopify allows at most 25 active app discounts at the same time. That's Shopify's limit, not the app's.
Do I need Shopify Plus for tiered discounts?
No. Hand-E AI Discounts works in every Shopify store, whatever your plan.
Do two variants of the same product count together?
You decide: each line in the cart on its own, all variants of a product together, or everything in your selection together. Shopify alone can only do the last one.
How does Shopify round percentage discounts?
It doesn't, it cuts off. 10% of $749.95 is $74.99, not $75.00. The preview in the app and the calculator on this page do the same, so they're right to the cent.
Can a customer buy the gift item as well?
Yes. If they add the item themselves, they pay for it as usual. The app only touches the gift it added itself.
Which orders count toward my plan?
All orders of your store except test orders, averaged per month over the last 60 days. A younger store is measured over its age, at least 30 days. Free covers up to 50 orders a month, Starter up to 200, Growth up to 600, Pro up to 1,500, and Plus has no limit. Every plan includes every feature.
What happens to my discounts if I uninstall the app?
Shopify removes the app's discounts together with the app. Discount codes you created with the app stay. They're regular Shopify codes.
Can AI create Shopify discounts from one sentence?
Yes. In Hand-E AI Discounts you describe the discount in one sentence, for example “10% off 3 or more items from the coffee collection”. The AI finds the matching products or collections in your store and suggests the discount type and the values. Nothing goes live until you review the discount and switch it on. The app is made in Germany by Hand-E Solutions, with support in English and German.
