Changelog
What's new in Hand-E Checkout Rules
New features and improvements, newest first. The app has been on the Shopify App Store since October 16, 2026; the entries before that date from the time before launch. Updates arrive by themselves, there's nothing to install.
October 17, 2026
- New look for the app and a new app icon.
- The plans now state the requirement precisely: no Shopify Plus needed, from the Basic plan up.
- The notice when you end a plan now correctly says that the Free plan applies again afterwards and your rules keep running.
- The last payment and shipping method now also stays when several rules together would hide everything. Before, the app only checked this within a single rule. The app takes over your existing rules on its own the next time you open it.
- All payment rules now share one time window, and so do all shipping rules.
October 16, 2026
- Hand-E Checkout Rules is on the Shopify App Store.
- New versions of the terms of service (1.4) and the privacy policy (1.12). The app asks you to accept them once.
- In the English interface, the links lead to the English versions of the legal texts.
- The app serves its fonts itself instead of loading them from Google.
- The field “Customer's previous orders” now says that only logged-in customers are recognized and every guest counts as new.
- Shopify's review window appears at the earliest one day after your first rule, and only while a rule is active.
October 6, 2026
- Three equal buttons to create rules: New payment rule, New shipping rule and New checkout block, each with the icon of its area.
- While you write a checkout block, a preview shows how your message looks at checkout.
- Without an active subscription the Free plan applies. If you reinstall on the Free plan, you can keep working right away.
September 27, 2026
- Each rule has its own switch in the list to turn it on and off. Deleting is now in the editor.
- The list is grouped into payment methods, shipping methods and checkout block.
- In the editor, a bar with Save and Cancel stays at the bottom, and it also shows what is still missing.
- A new rule starts with a prepared row, a new checkout block with the condition “Cart value at most”.
- A checkout block without a condition can no longer be saved, because it would have blocked every checkout.
September 21, 2026
- Hand-E Payment Rules becomes Hand-E Checkout Rules. New: shipping rules to hide, rename and move, and checkout blocks with your own message.
- Cart value counts without shipping and taxes.
- A checkout block only applies at checkout and doesn't hold up changes in the cart.
- If a condition isn't known yet, such as the shipping country before the address, the rule no longer drops out entirely. Hiding applies when in doubt.
- Country codes are checked when you save, UK becomes GB.
- The Standard trial lasts 14 days instead of 7.
September 18, 2026
- A condition on cart value or spend so far can name a currency. Without one, the app converts into your store's currency.
September 8, 2026
- New rule editor: you pick conditions from a list and add them with “Add condition”.
- “and” and “or” can be chosen per condition.
- Three new conditions on the cart: Product in cart has tag, Product title in cart and Product in cart from collection.
- Numbers can also be compared with “exactly”.
- When moving, you drag the rows into the order you want.
- A Free plan with one rule, and Standard for more rules.
